Job Title : Software Development Engineer
About the Team:
At McAfee, you will be working with an agile engineering team on a new framework for our Endpoint Security products. When this new framework is released in 2018 it will be ultimately rolled out on millions of Windows Endpoint machines within our customers' organizations. Typical customers of McAfee are large businesses, banks and government organizations.
About the Role:
You will work as part of a Cork-based agile software engineering team on a number of features for our new Endpoint framework.
Typical technologies being used for the development of this new framework include:
Developing new features for our framework using C++ that run on Windows OS (will expand to Linux and MacOS in the future)
Implementing User Interface modules using HTML5 and NodeJS
Implementing a Continuous Integration system (Jenkins/Groovy) to continuously validate our framework prior to a release
You will have the opportunity to join an exciting and energetic team in McAfee Cork with a strong vision for this new framework that we are creating.
Work as a Software Development Engineer within your agile team to interpret high-level requirements and technical designs and translate these into new features for our framework.
Write clean and maintainable code that is well commented
Troubleshoot challenging engineering issues that may arise on our framework
Participate in code reviews of other team members
Create tests to cover new features that will be run by our Continuous Integration system
Ensure that your code meets our engineering best practices in areas of quality, security and performance.
Have good collaboration, communication skills and flexibility to work with a global team across time-zones.
Key Skill Requirements:
Strong Experience in Software Development
Strong knowledge of C++ and/or Java
The ideal candidate will have 5-6 years development experience in a Software Development role
Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent.
We can consider other qualifications, if supported by good experience in the field.
