Manage a team of software professionals including but not limited to test engineers, software developers, and quality architects who are responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications or user interfaces. May also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance, and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed. Provides direction and goals to the group and interacts with stakeholders both internal and external.
As a Software QA Manager, a typical day might include following:
Developing and validating corporate and consumer security software to be used by millions of people around the world.
Performing the duties and rituals of an agile development lifecycle.
Managing the team and cross-team members to design, develop, debug, test, and release production quality products.
Managing development, test and analysis tool chain to help automate and improve software quality.
Curate and manage telemetry, dataflows and workflow automation to help the business understand and improve business outcomes.
Interface with Product Management, Project Management, Customer Experience and Design, Technical Support and other groups responsible for the development and support of our McAfee Corporate and Consumer Products.
5+ years of software development and quality assurance experience.
3+ years leading or managing a software development/quality team.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field); Equivalent experience will be considered.
You are good at:
Dealing with high-concurrency environments and the primitives used to manage them
Understanding and negotiating trade-offs in software requirements and design
Collaborating, analyzing, documenting and converging on software design in a large group
