About the Job:

The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally capable leader dedicated to leading, managing, implementing, and delivering programs and processes that drive optimal quality throughout the product development process, establishing and maintaining common standards across the entire organization.

The Quality Management leader must establish, monitor and continuously update quality performance metrics that track actual result to ensure consistency with the strategic and operational vision of the company. The successful candidate will be a natural front-line leader with the executive presence to establish immediate credibility with engineering leaders as well as other senior executives.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering for Enterprise End Point Engineering, the Quality Management leader will oversee a quality management team. The primary responsibility will be driving a comprehensive quality management program, establishing performance objectives for product, each team, and determining, documenting and implementing quality management core policies, tools and processes to ensure sustainable performance.

Define, implement, monitor and continuously improve global quality management strategies and processes

  • Champions quality across the Engineering organization and company.
  • Drive the quality roadmap and implementation of standards, methods, metrics and procedures ensuring and evaluating the quality of our software products. The successful candidate has a strong technical background in the processes of an outstanding quality engineering team.
  • Lead and instill a “sense of urgency” for product and process improvement to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Hiring outstanding quality engineers and retaining top-talent. 
  • Establish quality goals for the org, quality plans by product with go-no authority on releases based on quality criteria
  • Ensures the customer support org and professional support org is ready for each new release and has the proper training to support the new release in the field.
  • Develop global quality management standards, processes
  • Establish global quality measurement system via (ideally automated) dashboards or similar
  • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Resolve quality issues at root cause level
  • Identify root causes of quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, reviewing and analyzing results, recommending changes based upon findings, and following up to verify effectiveness
  • Drive the quality roadmap and implementation of standards, methods, metrics and procedures ensuring and evaluating the quality of our software products. The successful candidate has a strong technical background in the processes of an outstanding quality engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders and architects in quality strategy development and execution
  • Define, implement, and manage an overall quality audit program

Quality leader must be technically proficient in executing the responsibilities of:

  • Recruiting (together with the company’s HR team) members of the quality management team
  • Leveraging strengths of the current quality management team members
  • Providing leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
  • Leading change management and process improvement initiatives

About You:

The successful candidate will be a highly seasoned quality management professional. This individual must be extremely intelligent, personable, dynamic, and innovative, with exceptional strategic and project management skills, yet one who deploys an energetic day-to-day “get-it-done” attitude. This leader must also possess solid communication skills, a management presence, and the ability to influence and lead distributed teams. The successful candidate must be a business partner to the VP of Engineering and other members of the executive leadership team. The successful candidate’s qualifications will include:

  • Previous experience in a Director or Senior Executive position within the software industry with $300M+ in revenue, preferably with global responsibilities
  • Extensive quality management experience
  • Understands quality management tools and processes in the software industry
  • Knowledge of security compliance requirements in a corporate environment a plus
  • Consulting experience, in addition to industry experience, a plus
  • Telco industry experience a plus, with Telco grade certification processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with analytical skills, able to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement, assesses viable solutions, and develops and executes complex projects and comprehensive action plans
    • Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts
    • Periodic domestic and international travel to and between the company’s engineering centers will be required (approximately 20-30%).
  • Additional formal training in quality management a plus
