Job Title: Customer Reference Manager

Location:Santa Clara, CA

Role Overview:

As part of the Sales Concierge Team within Marketing Operations, the Customer Reference Manager will be responsible for recruiting and managing high-touch reference relationships across the global customer base.  The Customer Reference Manager will work closely with Sales, Field Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Management, Professional Services, and Support to solicit nominations.  The Customer Reference Manager will convert nominations into active program participants that will support a wide spectrum of public and private reference activities servicing the needs of sales, marketing, product management, and PR/Analyst Relations.

About the Role:

  • Recruit references and manage relationships
  • Create and maintain in-depth customer profiles and contacts
  • Manage reference request fulfillment; track reference activity and outcomes
  • Fulfill customer reference requirements for analyst surveys (Gartner MQs and Forrester Waves)
  • Offer nominations for Customer Advisory Boards; actively participate in key meetings
  • Develop assets to showcase customer success including videos and case studies
  • Increase customer reference program adoption and visibility
    • Understand and articulate the value of the program to a variety of internal and external stakeholder audiences

About You: 

  • Two years+ experience working in a Customer Reference group with involvement in customer/product marketing/product management interaction and asset development is ideal
  • Understanding of Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing interrelations
  • Strong project, program, and time management skills
    • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • Well organized
    • Able to manage numerous projects simultaneously
    • Able to react promptly to ad hoc requests
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal qualities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and collaboration skills are essential
  • MS Office skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Reference View and Salesforce a plus
  • College degree (or equivalent experience) is preferred
