Role Overview:

As a senior member of the Chief Technical Strategy team aligned to our North America Public Sector business this role works closely with leadership and account management in our Public Sector team. The focus of the role is to drive sales pipeline improvement and accelerate deal closure by engaging strategically with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure we maximize our customers security posture while simultaneously increasing McAfee’s account penetration and bookings opportunities. The position plays a key role in strengthening McAfee’s thought leadership position at both the Public Sector and broader market levels. The position reports to the Vice President and Chief Technical Strategist and will manage a team supporting our overall Public Sector business.

Role Overview:

As a senior member of the Chief Technical Strategy team aligned to our North America Public Sector business this role works closely with leadership and account management in our Public Sector team. The position plays a key role in strengthening McAfee’s thought leadership position at both the Public Sector and broader market levels. The position reports to the Vice President and Chief Technical Strategist and will manage a team supporting our overall Public Sector business.

About the job:

  • The CTS collaborates on a daily basis with the VP of Public Sector Sales as well as the Sales Directors to prioritize strategic and tactical sales opportunities to pursue.
  • In addition you will engage with the Public Sector Government Affairs office to promote and drive the companies technology agenda within the legislative arena.
  • This role depends on several cross functional departments across the company including but not limited to: CTO’s office, CISO’s office, Product Management, ETS teams, and Marketing.
  • The CTS role for Public Sector also coordinates efforts for the Security Solution Architects. Operationally, the team collaborates on weekly team calls, and participates in all of the sales management weekly meetings.
  • Core deliverables: Quarterly sales tracking & business results, thought leadership white papers, blogs and solution briefs  
  • Primary scope and responsibilities: Drive strategic and tactical business results through expert technical and business knowledge of the Public Sector marketplace, Deliver thought leadership direction regarding product and services in support of the Public Sector markets to internal stakeholders as well as influence external prospects and customers.

About you:

  • You have an ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action
  • You have the ability to influence individuals at different levels of an organization and across different functional areas.
  • You work very well in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • You communicate clearly and are able to translate difficult technical topics into simple, story based language that anyone can understand
  • Your commitment to customers and understanding their challenges is what drives you to perform at your absolute best.
  • You are comfortable and experienced engaging in thought leadership activities including press interviews, speaking engagements, social media engagements and political activities such as congressional testimony or acting as an advisor on cyber security legislation.
  • You are energized by growing, motivating and leading small  teams of senior level talent
  • Your background includes sales opportunity identification and pipeline management
  • You have 5-7 years of cyber security experience, specifically working with or selling to  Federal government.
  • Your background includes 3-5 years of sales management experience.
