Role Overview:

The Field Marketing Specialist will work directly with the corporate and field marketing team as well as in close collaboration with local and global sales teams as well as the global corporate and channel / partner marketing teams. This high-profile role needs to be highly organized, detail-oriented and thrives in a faced-paced, evolving environment, and comfortable working and communicating with external global channel / partner marketing teams within our technology partner ecosystem. All candidates need to be strategic thinkers, hands-on, and experienced in event planning, contract negotiation, and vendor management.

About the Role:

  • Review/recommend local event and marketing opportunities with/on behalf of regional sales directors and managers (RSMs) based on business goals and lead / demand generation targets
  • Help plan and support as well as manage corporate and field marketing events and partner / channel opportunities as well as support partners at their events as appropriate
  • Support event strategy as well as manage logistics and execution of the company’s customer user forums and ad hoc special events (e.g. launch parties, AR/PR events, etc)
  • Negotiate sponsorship and marketing opportunities with event organizers and third-party vendors
  • Attend events (may include some nights and weekends), manage onsite logistics, and educate attendees on our product offerings and network with the community
  • Work with sales development (SDR) team to manage lead hand-off and follow-up as well as event details the SDR team will need to succeed in follow-up
  • Report on effectiveness of field marketing activities, with the purpose of improving efficiency, efficacy, engagement and demand generation
  • Organize and manage inventory for marketing assets (collateral, giveaways, field kits, etc.)
  • Manage the direct mailer program as well as supporting customer welcome kits
  • Manage multiple marketing email alias / inboxes to filter / flag / respond to emails accordingly
  • Administrator program duties within Marketo / SFDC (e.g. uploading lists, inputting costs, etc)
  • Research / outreach industry events, including regional local events and competitor activities
  • Manage and update events page on McAfee’s ( website to support worldwide event activities
  • Research marketing tools to streamline events program (e.g. calendar / meeting applications, survey applications, events promotion, etc)
  • Introduce and develop as well as manage marketing events repository / database for contracts, sponsorship prospectus, speaking engagements, post-event surveys, etc
  • Support with budget preparation and manage tracking of operational expenditures associated with events
  • Will be trained to create programs in Marketo and campaigns in (SFDC) as well as manage the field event calendars on Outlook and SFDC

About You: 

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, keeping projects on-track and on budget
  • Team player who can also work independently and make decisions confidently
  • Ability to address issues in a timely and proactive manner to find practical solutions with a consciousness toward colleagues, customers, partners, and external vendors
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience managing and supporting events / marketing experience preferred
  • Proactive and thoughtful communicator with a sense of urgency and a willingness to continue to learn and gain job skills required to grow the role
  • Willing to travel and staff local tradeshows and events onsite as needed, 30% travel
  • Mustbe able to lift 30 pounds
