Role Overview:

As Security Sales Engineer (SE), you will work with Account Managers as part of the McAfee Public Sector Sales Team to oversee the sales support of the McAfee Security product line to existing and prospective government and commercial customers within the region. As an SE, your role is an essential part of the sales organization. You will assist the sales team with Pre-Sales technical knowledge, presentations, demonstrations and Proof of Concepts. You’ll work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter expert to demonstrate how proposed solutions meet and exceeds customer requirements.

About the Role:

  • Run the Technical Sales relationship and sales activities within the sales process to gain the technical win and become the customers Trusted Technical Advisor
  • Strong writing and Communications Skills
  • Technical and situational problem resolution
  • Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via WebEx, and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to show how McAfee Security solutions can provide value to them
  • Experience in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue
  • Own the technical solution response to RFIs/RFPs to help deliver a comprehensive consultative response
  • Work with the sales team to strategize on sales approaches
  • Retain a competent level of knowledge and technical hands on experience across McAfee products 
  • Present the solution proposal to the customer, demonstrate how we solve the customer’s requirements and how this aligns to the customers results and differentiate from the competition
  • Ensure successful product evaluations
  • Plan, manage and execute customer product Proof of Concepts
  • Sharing best practices, share technical knowledge, provide feedback on product line
  • Provide Pre-Sales technical expertise through technical and product presentations, product demonstrations, pilot implementations, beta program administration, consistent communication, and on-going technical consultation
  • Provide technical escalation management within accounts
  • Play a pro-active "Technical Account Management" role within your target accounts including relationship and business development activities
  • Follow McAfee Corporate Values, Guidelines and Compliance
  • Work together with Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers, the Sales Engineer (SE) to be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their Pre-Sales customers
  • Take ownership of the prime technical relationship with our Pre-Sales customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and via telephone

About You:

  • Your background includes 4 years of directly related technical experience including: installing, designing, managing and supporting an enterprise network and Cloud Virtualization
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas Software Defined Networking Cloud and Virtualization Network administration & management Network performance monitoring & Security Operations Center & Security Information Event Management (SIEM) Enterprise Anti-Malware solutions or Network Security & Encryption solutions Help Desk/Desktop support solutions & Security Operation Centers
  • High-energy, self-motivated individual with outstanding professional, sales, and technical capabilities
  • Comfortable contributing at all levels within targeted accounts
  • Experience required in Information Technology with emphasis on managing a distributed environment supporting disparate systems and/or providing Pre-Sales support in an equivalent environment
  • Previous Systems Engineering/Sales experience is preferred
  • Experience with McAfee Security solutions is preferred
